Sicilian Wine Tasting with Carluccio’s and Planeta

Last night’s Sicilian Wine Tasting with Antipasti in Carluccio’s elegant Private Dining Room (upstairs at their Covent Garden location) was a laidback, sociable and deliciously brilliant time for the twenty or so Qypers fortunate enough to attend. On hand to guide us through the full range of offerings by Sicilian winery Planeta was the enthusiastic Michael Stocks, bar and training manager for Carluccio’s. Of course, Michael’s zealous love for and encyclopaedic knowledgeable of Sicilian wine was much appreciated. But the great thing about Planeta’s wines is that they speak for themselves. As Michael put it, most of Planeta’s wines could be described as “Marmite wines” – you either love them or hate them.
