Okay! The good folks at We Are Social and Le Nouveau Paris just offered me a chance at a freebie trip to Paris if I could come up with a blog post about “your dream weekend in Paris … if you had €1000.” A dream weekend in Paris? Hmmm … that’s easy!
I’d go to one of my favourite museums (Musée du quai Branly with its phenomenal collection of indigenous art from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas), dine at one of my favourite restaurants (La Fontaine de Mars, where I’ve actually eaten every time I’ve been to Paris – Obama likes it too!) and hang out as much as I could with one of my favourite Parisians (my French brother from another mother, the one and only Theramin playing Jimmy Virani). I wouldn’t mind revisiting l’Orangerie for more excellent art as well as Maison Berthillon for some of the best ice cream on earth!
And I suppose such an excursion would provide the perfect opportunity to slide into the Bar Hemingway and sample its Ritz Side Car, which at €400 is generally beyond my budget.
I’d probably eat more than my fair share of crepes too and … of course … run around like a madman (most likely in the graffiti rich Marais) taking bucket loads of photos!
