Being situated in the villagey neighbourhood of Clerkenwell – home to some of London’s oldest and most celebrated pubs, a few nearby Michelin starred and celebrity chef restaurants, numerous coffee snob cafes and a vibrant foodie approved street market – means that if an eatery intends to stay in business around here, they’ve got to at least be as good as the competition. A La Cruz is possibly the best place for a steak in this area of Central London and arguably in the whole of the city. Everything else on the menu is delicious too – the empanadas, the cooked provolone, the lamb … oooh the slow cooked juicy, tender lamb!
