Low, Slow & Juke

A juke joint within walking distance of St James’s Park? To be sure newly opened Low, Slow & Juke offers a mere simulation of a down and dirty Deep South eating and drinking experience, but a fun one nevertheless.

I had a hoot at the Low, Slow & Juke launch party last night. From the moment I entered the small and rather unassuming entrance to going downstairs for the full blown Texas style Narnia expanse below (and right comfy one at that), I was impressed.

For fans of American style low and slow cooked meats, you’ll find a commendable assortment to consider – maple glazed baby back ribs, beef ribs, brisket and burnt ends, and wings – plus sides such as (super tasty smoky pit beans, deep fried mac & cheese, slaw and more.

Cocktails were tasty (and strong), and I was pleased to see plenty of Beavertown beers on offer.

Low, Slow & Juke is located at 1 Abbey Orchard Street, SW1P 2LU. Find out more at lowslowjuke.com.
