Good Stuff #58

Picasso: The Artist and His Muses

Good stuff and lots of it! Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.

Picasso: The Artist And His Muses

This image-rich, soft cover coffee table book examines the significance of the six women who were most important to Picasso’s development as an artist while exploring the notion of the artist-muse relationship. Edited by K Beisiegel and published by Black Dog Publishing, Picasso: The Artist and His Muses retails at £19.95.

Virginia Themed Evening with Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe

It was an honour to meet Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, at a recent Virginia Themed Evening at Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham with special guest speaker Michael Portillo. The event was not only a fun way to rub elbows with the Governor and an assortment of travel professionals from Virginia as well as across the UK, but to sample a great range of Virginia wines and beers. I loved my glass of Barboursville Vineyards 2014 Vermentino and my bottle of Governor McAuliffe recommended Port City Brewing Company’s Optimal Wit beer.

Polo Sugar Free Extra Strong Mints

Polo has gone sugar free with new Polo Sugar Free and Polo Sugar Free Extra Strong Mints. Both have a RRP of 50p, and both are accredited by the Oral Health Foundation as being kind to teeth. Made with natural mint oils to refresh your breath on the go, they pack a serious flavour punch and help to reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Vibram Furoshiki

Vibram Furoshiki

Vibram’s Furoshiki “wrapping sole” travel shoe draws on the ancient Japanese art of furoshiki: wrapping items in cloth to transport them and features four key concepts: multi-fit, easy-on, multi-use and portable. The ergonomic straps wrap around the ankle, allowing an easy fit with lots of flexibility, with the all guaranteed protection from the Vibram sole. Lightweight and very bendy, they’re ideal for travel – comfy too! The spring/ summer 2016 collection offers a range of colours and styles. I’ve got (and love) the jean model.
