On Set in France | The Incantation

Last month while passing through LA, I got to catch up with childhood friend and filmmaker Jude S Walko. Jude was in town working on his latest project and directorial debut – indie horror flick, The Incantation. But it wasn’t the first time I’d seen Jude this year. Filming for The Incantation took place in France over the summer, and I was able to slip down to its location in the Loire Valley for a behind the scenes snoop during shooting.

Based on the original script written by Jude, The Incantation is the first original content feature film for Blue Falcon Productions. It follows young American Lucy Bellerose as she pays a trip to her family’s ancestral castle in rural France.

Played with conviction by rising star Sam Valentine, Lucy’s visit turns from dream come to true to waking nightmare as she’s forced to confront her family’s disturbing past and sinister secrets as revealed by a small but big time creepy cast of characters including Abel Baddon (played by former TV Superman, Dean Cain of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman fame).

If the mood of the shoot is aptly transcribed to the final product, The Incantation promises to be a hit with fans of the genre. There’s plenty of spills and thrills, gruesome splatter and suspenseful intrigue – all wrapped up in thoroughly engaging plot.

And if that’s not reason enough to keep on the lookout for this movie, there’s even a cameo by yours truly! I’m one of the hooded dudes in the background of the satanic ritual/virgin sacrifice scene. It was the role I was born to play! What more could you want in a film?
