Highbury Music Venue The Garage Relaunches

The Garage

The Garage gets a reboot.

New owners DHP Family (Oslo in Hackney and Rock City in Nottingham) are relaunching the famed (and infamous) music venue this month. Updates include a new sound system, decor and bar; a revamped intimate gig space upstairs; and an all-day café and bar on the ground floor.

Opened in 1993, the landmark venue boasts an impressive lineup of artists who’ve performed there, including Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Oasis.

I’m looking forward to scoping out the spruce up in a few weeks at the first of two shows by super influential post-punk heroes, Wire, whose Ex-Lion Tamer and I am the Fly are two tunes I listen to all the time (and have now for many a year).

The Garage is located at 20-22 Highbury Crescent, N5 1RD. Find out more at thegarage.london.
