Bottomless Brunch at The Vincent

The Vincent near Hackney Downs has launched a weekend brunch menu featuring bottomless coffee, cocktails and prosecco alongside a yummy assortment of breakfast and otherwise brunch-able dishes.

I enjoyed my chance to give the new menu a run through last weekend (and could done with a good run afterward but opted only for a stroll through the Downs).bEverything was tasty and ample. Best bites were of my waffle with buttermilk fried chicken, bacon and maple syrup (£9.50). But my 12-hour pork hash – with two poached eggs, fried potatoes, peppers, slow cooked pork, chorizo and brown sauce onions (£9) – was a close second. Chowing down by my side was Kemey, who had an equally satisfactory experience with her vegetarian breakfast (two poached eggs, avocado, roast tomato and mushrooms, chipotle baked beans, veggie hash, Padron peppers, and toast, £8.50).

We both went “bottomless” with our drinks (£17 for cocktails or prosecco; £2 for filter coffee). I had The Vincent’s summery and especially refreshing signature cocktail, The Hugo (gin, prosecco, elderflower and mint). Kemey had the prosecco. And we both got bottomless coffees. Given the ‘bottomless’ nature of drinks, I would have preferred service to be a little more on the ball with respect to replenishing them. But whenever prompted servers were quick to do so.

I loved the high ceilings and bi-level dining space as well as the streams of nature light and views from the restaurant’s huge windows.
