Best London Pizza of 2017

P1040242

Anytime’s pizza time in London with these fantastic pizzerias.

Here’s the latest slice in my Best of 2017 series. Buon appetite!

Please note, this list merely reflects how I chose to spend my time during the year and is comprised of well established and brand new venues as well as businesses that are somehow related to where work and play took me.

Items appear in alphabetic order, not ranked.

Best London Pizza

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele
125 Stoke Newington Church Street, N16 0UH
The London franchise of Naples’ most celebrated pizzeria might lack the atmosphere of the original, but the pizzas are almost as gorgeous and definitely worth your time to try.

Bellavita
11C Dock Street, E1 8JN
Deli, academy, expo HQ and home of all things yummily Italian, Bellavita does a fantastic pizza from wood-fired ovens.

Four Hundred Rabbits
143 Evelina Road, SE15 3HB
Four Hundred Rabbits is a South London group of pizzerias with locations in Crystal Palace and Nunhead. The group specialises in sourdough pizzas baked in wood-fired ovens and served alongside (a rather South London centric list) of craft beers. I can vouch for the Nunhead outlet for ace pizza and awesome brewskis!

Icco
46 Goodge Street, W1T 4LU
An Icco margherita sets you back for less than £4. This stalwart Goodge Street pizzeria remains a hero for budget conscious and time strapped folks seeking a warm and tasty meal without fuss.
Icco is also listed in my ‘best of’ list for London cheap eats.

Sud Italia
Old Spitalfields Market, Brushfield Street, E1 6AA
Some of London’s best Neapolitan style pizzas are baked in the wood-fired oven of the Sud Italia van near the Lamb Street entrance to Old Spitalfields Market. And if you see a queue when you go – don’t worry it’ll move fast and the pizzas are definitely worth a wait anyway! Thee margherita only costs a fiver and is made as it should be (DOP San Marzano tomato sauce, Extra virgin olive oil, Fresh basil, Parmesan, and Fior di latte mozzarella).
Sud Italia is also listed in my ‘best of’ list for London cheap eats.
