Squid Kitchen Brings Madrid Street Market Style to The King & Co, Clapham

Continuing with its pop-up approach to pub grubbing, The King & Co in Clapham has opened its kitchen to Madrileño style street food vendors, Squid Kitchen. A match made in heaven? It is if crisp craft beer coupled with cones overflowing with calamari sounds like you kind of fiesta. Marvin Gaye Chetwynd at Studio Voltaire: Hermitos Children 2 

Hermitos Children 2 is the largest film commission to date by Glasgow based artist Marvin Gaye Chetwynd (known as Spartacus Chetwynd a couple years back when she was a Turner Prize nominee) and is on view now at Studio Voltaire. The film is part of an ongoing series of “experimental television crime drama” following telepathic detective Joan Shipman as “she uncovers and solves sex crimes” and is screened within a large scale gallery installation incorporating a number of props and interiors. London Daily Photo: Honky Tonk Clapham

Honky Tonk Clapham opened about a week and a half ago, riding the cibus Americanus wave south of the river in the hopes of finding the same success that sister bar and restaurant, Honky Tonk Chelsea has.

I dropped by Honky Tonk Clapham last night for the launch party, munched on some pretty decent chicken wings and enjoyed a Maple Trace cocktail (essentially an Old Fashioned with cinnamon and maple syrup infused bourbon). Yee haw. Continue reading
