Dabba Mania Lunch Menu at Talli Joe

Modern Indian restaurant, Talli Joe, has been near the top of my list of hot spots to visit since it opened about a year ago. My tight schedule and the restaurant’s popularity (book ahead for weekend evenings!) made that tougher than usually for slipping in for a meal. But an invitation to preview its new Dabba Mania lunch menu presented an ideal opportunity finally for me to have a taste. And it was definitely worth the wait. Continue reading

Beer and BBQ Pairing at Bodean’s Covent Garden

Best London Bars and Pubs of 2015

London has been a great place to drink for many a year. This year, for me, it seemed even better than before. My favourite watering holes continued to please while a handful of new or bars and pubs otherwise previously unknown to me caught my attention with great service, comfy digs and – most importantly – quality quaffs. Nothing Jarring about a Relaxing Dinner at Drury Lane’s Jar Kitchen

A member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, Jar Kitchen’s menu features plenty of British fare (all meat sourced from Walter Rose & Son butchers in Wiltshire) with a contemporary European twist along with tasty items presumably picked up just round the restaurant’s Seven Dials corner (chiefly Monmouth Coffee and Neal’s Yard Dairy). And – from what I could ascertain at a recent tasting event – I it’s all in good hands with Chef Dominik Moldenhauer (ex-Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner). Continue reading

Tredwell’s by Marcus Wareing

Often before heading to a restaurant for the first time I’ll have a look online at existing reviews about the place to know what to keep an eye out for and maybe to avoid. For my Sunday lunch visit to Marcus Wareing’s “Modern British” Tredwell’s, I should have just avoided reading the reviews all together and let my gut (which is now a good bit larger after my Tredwell’s meal) guide me in the right direction. Continue reading
