Caffeo Solo & Milk | My Coffee with Melitta

Caffeo Solo & Milk | My Coffee with Melitta

Having a good morning? My mornings have been great since I started brewing my coffee with a fully automated Melitta Caffeo Solo & Milk E953-102 coffeemaker.

Join me for a quick break as I continue the My Coffee collaboration with premium coffee machine maker Melitta for a review of its Caffeo Solo & Milk coffeemaker.

The mid-ranged automatic bean-to-cup Solo is pretty much ideal for how I drink coffee at home. It allows easily customised individual drinks to be made with no minimal effort and no gadgety fidgeting. Clean up is easy.

Some of the machine’s key features include the following:

  • Height-adjustable coffee spout so you can pour into a teensy espresso cup or your favourite mega mug;
  • Double-cup mode for efficient preparation of two coffees at the same time;
  • Removable milk frothing nozzle for no fuss milk frothing and convenient clean up;
  • 0-watt switch with programmable on/off function and saved personal settings;
  • Companion app with tips and more to help you fully enjoy your machine, make the most of its functions and brew better coffee for yourself.The Solo has a compact design. I wouldn’t call it petite, but it’s far more trim than comparable machines on the market. However, I would call my kitchen petite with counter space at a premium. I was able to squeeze in the Solo with no problem. ‘still, I’d suggest you check the dimensions for your own situation. The Solo’s measurements are 20cm wide, 32.5cm high and 45.5cm deep.

I should note that the Solo is a bean-only machine with no function for brewing already ground bean. I’m cool with that as I tend to prefer buying whole beans anyway – and the Solo does a brilliant job grinding – but this does limit options.

Regarding the “& Milk” aspect of the machine, I must say I live in a black coffee household. So, aside from some tinkering around when I first unboxed the Solo, I haven’t used the frother.

That said, I was impressed with it when gave it a ‘kick test’. Should a milk-with-my-coffee guest come over, I would feel confident I could serve an agreeable drink to them.

Of course, I’m leaving out the most important aspect of any coffeemaker review (or perhaps I’m saving the best bit for last): how the finished product actually tastes. The Melitta Caffeo Solo & Milk E953-102 brews a tasty drink. I’m just as satisfied with my morning cup now as I was before receiving this machine – but I’m putting less time and effort into the preparation.
