The Langham London Launches New Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood

The Langham London’s Executive Pastry chef Cherish Finden and her team have launched a new Wedgewood Afternoon Tea. Inspired by (and served with) classic Wedgwood collections and featuring butterfly and daisy motifs, the new tea service is a salute to spring and the warmer and sunnier days to come.

Yes, this post is the second time in less than a month about afternoon tea at the Langham (see my review of the Langham’s limited run Easter afternoon tea here). No I’m not really that much of an afternoon tea fanatic. But I am a fan of flavour – and there’s plenty of that to be had and to be admired. Especially yummy sandwiches, scones, and pastries are presented with masterful yet lighthearted display. Moreover, I can’t think of a better-established venue for afternoon tea – or most other luxuries – in the heart of London than the Langham.

Besides, an invitation to attend a preview of the new tea service was a tough one to turn down knowing there would be treats on offer I already love, such as the truffled duck egg brioche and the peppered beef pastrami with red Leicester coleslaw sandwiches. My favourite new morsel tried at the preview was the “Wedgwood Wild Strawberry,” an exceptionally moreish macaroon comprised of wild strawberry pâte de fruit and pistachio cream. Gorgeous.

The new Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood is available from 6 April 2016 with sittings at 1.00pm, 3.15pm and 5.30pm. Prices are £49 per person, £59 per person including a glass of N.V Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne, and £64 per person including a glass of N.V Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne Rosé.

The Langham London is located at 1C Portland Place, Regent Street, W1B 1JA. Find out more at london.langhamhotels.co.uk.
