Buddha Bowl at Beany Green

P1180885

The Daisy Green collection of Australian-style eateries recently launched a range of Buddha Bowls for weekday lunch. I dropped by one of its outlets – Beany Green at Paddington Basin – last week for a taste of this hot and healthy menu addition.

Buddha Bowl options include lemon and herb chicken, meatballs with tomato, and vegan Beany balls (think beetroot-flavoured falafel), all served with a mix of roasted sweet potato, chickpea ragu, roasted aubergine, greens, mixed grain rice and fermented jalapeño hot sauce.

I went with the vegan bowl and found it plenty tasty and filling. At £9.50 (£7.90 for takeaway) I reckon it was good value for a warm and healthful fill up too. Not my first visit to a Green venue but my first to this particular one – I thought Beany Green was a comfortable and convenient setting. I liked sitting at the window, watching folks walk along the Paddington Basin with boats bobbling in the background. Service was polite and efficient.

Buddha Bowls are available at Daisy Green in Marble Arch or Beany Green venues in Paddington Central, Broadgate Circle and Regents Place.

Beany Green 6C Sheldon Square, W2 6EZ. Find out more about it and all the locations in the Daisy Green collection at daisygreenfood.com.
