#BBQbound: Austin and the Hill Country

If y’all ain’t never been, let me tell you that Austin is as happening a place to visit as any in the USA. With a booming local economy and a population busting at the seams with an unprecedented number of folks flocking to live there (as much for the opportunity as for the all-but-guaranteed blue skies and sunshine) the city nevertheless retains a warm and informal feel that would have even the prickliest of pears soon feeling at home. #BBQbound: An Epic Quest for the Best BBQ in the American South

I don’t mean to rub it in, but I’ve just returned from one of the sauciest adventures I’ve ever undertaken: a three-week road trip covering more than 2,500 miles across six states. The aim of my low ‘n slow sojourn was as straightforward as it was overindulgent – to find (and devour) the best BBQ in the American South. Continue reading

Did Madrid

Kemey and I are both enthusiastic fans of Spain. It’s very much one of our preferred destinations for holidays and city breaks and is a country we both know fairly well. However, Kemey had never been to (but always very much had wanted to visit) its dynamic and dignified capital. So back last month, to celebrate her birthday, we headed to Madrid for a long weekend of food, fun and flamenco. Like me, after my initiation to the charms of this magic place some years ago, Kemey was wowed. To be sure, our magnificently Madrileño weekend won’t be our last! Continue reading

I Did What in Amsterdam? It Wasn’t Me! I Swear!

So, here’s that little eight inch 3D print out of me hanging out in Amsterdam. It’s nice to think that “I” got to go sightseeing via British Airways’ new Last Call range of last minute flight and last minute holiday deals and that “I” apparently chose an especially sunny time to visit this fun loving Dutch city. Continue reading

3D Me Goes to Amsterdam on a Last Call with British Airways

Whoa. Check out this 8″ 3D  print out of me. Apparently while I was trotting around Greece, this lil dude was paying a visit to Amsterdam on my behalf a la BA’s new Last Call  range of last minute flight … Continue reading

British Airways “Perfect Days” App and the Eternal City (Urban Travel Blog)

The gist of my brief Roman holiday was pretty basic: eat a lot of pizza, walk around all over the place and brush up on my street photography. And, in that sense, the day was indeed a perfect one for me. Continue reading

Paraymplic Pride and the London #HomeAdvantage

Wow. This epic London 2012 summer is done. Gone. Over. I’m hardly what you’d call a sports fan, but I really enjoyed having the Olympics – and the Paralympics – plop down right here in my town. From my perspective, … Continue reading

British Airways Home Advantage

British Airways invited me out to its Waterside international head office at Heathrow last week. The invite was a teaser of what’s to come with their Home Advantage Influencer Programme (apparently, somebody at BA reckons I’m influential – neato!). It … Continue reading
