With so many wines from myriad points around the globe, why should people pick a bottle from, say, Monterrey Bay as opposed to Montepulciano or the Côtes du Rhône? The 2010 edition of the annual trade-only California Wine Tasting at Lindley Hall in London offered a chance to sample a tasty range of refreshing American wines and provided a firsthand opportunity to pick the brains of those in the wine trade about how to select a quality Californian quaff.
