For those booking flights to Toronto, might I recommend familiarizing yourselves with the Torontoist.com before checking in at the airport? That is, of course, if the volcanic ash from Iceland moves along and European airports can actually open again!
One of Canada’s premiere websites, the focus of Torontoist is “absolutely everything interesting related to Toronto,” including news, arts, events, culture, transit, politics, photography, advertising, street art and graffiti, condos (this page), food, and a whole lot more.
Established in October 2004 as part of the thirteen-city Gothamist network, Torontoist is today published by Ink Truck Media, and has become “the largest, most influential, and most widely-read website of its kind” in Canada. From where to eat and how to spend your weekend to top news analysis, this multi-contributor blog offers refreshingly local views on what’s hot (and not) about this vibrant and cosmopolitan city.
I’m a contributing editor for Londonist, a sister site to the Torontoist. I came on to Londonist as a fan – not just of the particular London site but of a number of the Gothamist sites. Over the years, I’ve come to rely on these city-centric resources when in need of an insider’s perspective. Loads of content posted throughout the day by folks passionate about about their town: Torontoist.com.
Exellent work.
Well said.
I will be back to check some more new info.
Thank you,
Marko
