I popped round to the Lonely Planet Street Food Festival last night at Village Underground in Shoreditch. The event was to celebrate the launch of Lonely Planet’s latest title, The World’s Best Street Food. There were London based street vendors of various international backgrounds cooking up recipes from the book. All the food was pretty good, but only one thing really blew me away: the jerked pork served up by traditional Caribbean food folk, Rummanco. I grabbed a copy of the book while there. The recipes vary from easy to complex and at least a few look well worth trying.

I have to agree, that pork was amazing!
Ha! Yeah, delish with just the right about of heat. Did you pick up a copy of the book? I had a quick look at the recipe, and it doesn’t seem too terribly complicated. I hope to try it soon.
I did indeed! Looks like a tenner well spent. I think this Easter weekend might be a mini world food fest at our house.
I’m from South Africa and they even included the recipe for Walkie Talkies (not everyone’s cup of tea).
Very cool. Keep me posted! Do you plan on blogging about your mini world food fest?
Have fun!
