In search of the “next great chocolate flavour,” British chocolate brand Thorntons, has launched a Great Chocolate Britain Chosen By You competition. Thorntons is looking for chocolate creations from across the whole country. What chocolate flavour do you think would best represent Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Northwest, the Northeast, Yorkshire and Humberside, the West Midlands, the East Midlands, East Anglia, London and the Southeast or Wales?
The competition is open for entries until the end of July, when all the ideas will be looked at by a panel of experts and whittled down to a top three for each region. The British public will then have the casting vote to decide the top flavour from every region, with one overall winner being announced during Chocolate Week in October.
Think you’ve got a winning idea? You can submit your chocolate creations online for a chance to win a money-can’t-buy chocolatey prize.
The lucky winner will receive a year’s supply of Thorntons chocolate along with a chance visit Thornton Park in Derbyshire to see their chocolate idea come to life in the kitchens with Thorntons’ chocolatiers. Plus their chocolate creation will be launched as part of a new Thorntons’ Handmade Collection.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, have a look at Thorntons’ Best of British range, which was launched earlier this year to celebrate 2012. Along with iconic products such as chocolate flag plaques, lollies and chocolate buses, Thorntons also launched a new range of flavours based on classic British desserts such as Jam Roly Poly, Apple Pie and Custard, Bakewell Tart and Lemon Sussex Pond.
