What a day!
I guess, technically, it’s now tomorrow. But I’m still up and want revel in this fantastic day just a teensy bit more before heading off to bed.
My morning started off like any other. I managed to sleep in a little later than usual though, and that was really nice. Then checking my inbox over coffee, an especially tasty message appeared with “Invitation to Parma Press Trip” in the subject line. As you might very well imagine, I opened the email and replied back to it speedily – something along the lines of “Um yes please” was pretty how that response went. So stoked.
The rest of the day was spent whittling away (with some actual efficiency) at a workload that included doing research into dishwasher reviews. Did you that only two in five UK households have a dishwasher, compared to 2 out of 3 in European countries? But Brits are rapidly catching up, with a quarter of a million households choosing the machine option every year. Fascinating stuff. Nonetheless, I don’t even know what to tell people I do for a living sometimes. But, hey, I’m still having fun and haven’t skipped a beat yet.
Of course, the biggest thrill was watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Danny Boyle did his country proud with that one. And … oh yeah … up yours, Mitt Romney.
The ceremony was especially awesome for me to watch as my girlfriend was actually in the show operating one of the puppets in the Voldemort/nightmare scene. She’s amazing and had worked so hard preparing to for her brief moment entertaining an estimated audience of four billion people. She rocks!
Anyway, I’m just winding down after a particularly pleasant day. I’ll stop bragging now.
