I’ve been experiencing so much incredibly amazing stuff over the past couple of months, I’ve had hardly little time to keep up with it all much less to publish another post in my Good Stuff series. But today’s the first taste of mellow I’ve had in awhile. So, here ya go! I hope you enjoy this list of all the other amazing things I’ve come across lately but for whatever reason they didn’t make it into their own blog posts on here, my tikichris-to-go Tumblr blog or one of my client blogs.
Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry: One of the best movies I’ve seen this summer. If it’s still screening (or when it comes out on iTunes, DVD, etc), watch it! It’s touching, funny and important. This dude’s a great artist and thinker and one of very few Chinese citizens speaking out and loudly about his country.
The Descendants: Finally got around to watching this film. Fantastic performance by George Clooney (and everybody in the cast actually) … gorgeous Hawaiian backdrop … wonderful soundtrack! Great and thoughtful movie about life’s priorities and coping with difficult decisions.
Money Talk: MoneyTalk is a podcast from The Motley Fool (UK) that I’ve started to “tune in” to recently. Presenter David Kuo does a great job explaining financial news and invest tips in plain language without dumbing down the content. I’m learning a lot!
snoopdogg on Instagram: Are you on Instagram? I’m CHRISOSBURN on there. Give me a follow if you like, and while you’re at it, check out Snoop Dogg’s feed. That guy knows how to live .. and does a smart job sharing images of his travels and lifestyle with thousands of his fans via Instagram. And for all his OG posturing express through the pics he posts a real fascination and appreciation for his fortunes and his life.
Vina Croatia Annual Tasting 2012: Dropped in for a quick slurp through this event at Delfina restaurant in Bermondsey. Highlights? I loved everything I sipped from Kutjevo winery, especially the clean, medium bodied De Gotho Pinot crni 2009.
Berry Bros & Rudd Italian Grand Tour Tasting: Whoa. Drank some amazing wines at this one and reconfirmed my love of love of Italian reds. Faves? Many. Absolute favourites? Castello di Ama’s 2008, l’Apparita, Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany; Guado al Tasso’s 2010 il Bruciato, Bolgheri, Tuscany; and Roagna’s 2007 Barbaresco, Montefico, Piedmont. Stunning, savoury, robust.
