Here’s a quick little list of good stuff I’ve recently come across and thought was worth sharing with you. Enjoy!
Airbnb
July started with a visit to Paris and my first experience staying at an Airbnb property. My lovely host, Maguy, had a comfortable, spacious and very clean!) apartment smartly situated in the 11th arrondissement. Her home will be my first thought next time I need to find a place to stay in Paris (and I hope I’m not shooting myself in the foot by spreading the word about this gem).
Christmas in July
July’s when a lot of retailers and brands put on events to show what they’re going to sell when Christmastime comes around. I went round to a few of these unseasonal sneak peaks and especially liked what I saw (and tasted) Carluccio’s and the East India Company.
Carluccio’s: I loved just about everything I sampled. I couldn’t get enough of the masserini (butter and cocoa biscuits from Piemonte, £7.50 for a 300g jar).
East India Company: I was really blown away but some of the products I tried. I always thought these guys offered hight quality times but I think they’ve got some things coming out in Christmas that well surpasses what they’ve done in the past. Totally loved EIC’s caramel sea salt biscuits!
Jacket Required
When not rambling about France or cramming Christmas treats in my pie hole, I was prowling the makeshift aisles of London menswear tradeshow, Jacket Required. Luckily in this heat no jacket wasn’t actually necessary to get in (just press accreditation). Sprin and summer 2014 threads I liked included …
… comfy jumpers by Bellfield,
… rad t-shirts from Worn By,
… stylish surfwear by Lightning Bolt,
…. Japanese print inspired line by Converse as well as …
An upcoming relaunch of some of Converse‘s designs from the 70s.
