Do you love Italian cooking but find that your version of al dente leaves you and your dinner guests feeling all disappointed? Here’s a chance for you and a friend to participant in an All Day Italian cooking class worth £300 in total this Saturday at Cookery School near Oxford Circus. Keen? Keep reading and buon appetito!
I reckon the Cookery School offers London’s best opportunity to improve your cooking skills – whether you’re a complete novice or a total pro. I’ve certainly learned a thing or two from Rosalind and co over the years. But don’t take my word for it. The school recently won the UK Cookery School Awards’ Best City Cookery School for 2013 and has a three star rating from the SRA.
But you don’t even have to take their word for it either because I’ve got two places for this Saturday’s Italian class to give away to one lucky reader. The class runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm and is valued at £150 per person. Here are some more details:
Enjoy a day of wonderful Italian cooking. Start with a classic minestrone served with an olive focaccia, followed by butternut risotto. To follow, grilled whole baby squid with lemon and herbs with rocket salad and then a wonderful chicken cacciatore served with polenta. To finish, vanilla ice cream and Original Beans hot chocolate sauce. Teas and coffees will be served with homemade biscotti. Regional wines will accompany the meal. On arrival you will be welcomed with a Cookery School breakfast of freshly baked morning goods.
Want to see (and taste!) for yourself? To be in with a chance to win two placements in the All Day Italian class at Cookery School this Saturday (1 February 2014) simply do the following:

italian cooking means simplicity to me – simple flavours, simple cooking and wonderful simple italian ingredients. It makes me feel full of happiness when i cook italian food!
Yes! Using a few simple quality ingredients seems to be key to great Italian cooking.
Simple healthy dishes bursting with the wonderful flavours of the Mediterranean 🙂
Mmmm … such a fantastic variety of flavours from the Med though!
Italian cooking means Healthy colourful flavorsome simple food ,lots of tomatoes, oil and herbs .I love Italian food and it is so much more than mainstream pizza and lasagna.
I would love to participate in the class so i can share the knowledge with loved ones and make some amazing new food .
Thanks Melanie! Best of luck.
I don’t know a great deal about Italian cooking, but I love how the simplest of ingredients come together to make something delicious!
Hey Alex! You probably know more than you think. Whatever the case, Cookery School would be a great place to learn.
I’d really appreciate the opportunity to take part in the cooking class as I really enjoy cooking and mediterranean cuisine.
Also the class would give me the chance to master cooking Italian, just in time for Valentines day.
Thanks Andy.Yep cooking something tasty for that special someone is a great way to spend Valentine’s.
Italian food to me means comfort. My Grandfather was Italian so i grew up on his recipes through my mother. Unfortunatly i never paid attention while she was cooking (she is also very possesive of her kitchen space) so what i cook is mainly trial and error from memory of flavours. It’s not bad and my family enjoys it but i’d love to learn more about the traditional flavours and be able to cook to its original form
Lovely story, Naomi. Thank you so much for sharing.
Italian cooking is all about using the freshest seasonal ingredients possible, and then using some easy cooking techniques to enhance the natural flavour of the food. I’d love to have a teaching session on cooking Italian with my other half so we can then go home and enjoy cooking it all again at home!
Thanks Melissa. Best of luck 🙂
Italian cooking is a complete mystery to me! I cook Indian and Chinese but if out I am more often that no eating Italian. Would love to extend my repertoire!
Good luck! Italian is probably closer to Indian and Chinese than you might think.
My names is Italian (even though I’m Indian) as we had Italian neighbours who we were very close to. Our parents always used to joke that they got the wrong kids as I loved pasta and their daughter loved Indian food.
I love the idea of cucina povere, taking basic ingredients and turning them into something special, very relevant in these straightened times! e.g pangrattato frying stale breadcrumbs with garlic and thyme and using it as a substitute for parmesan. That what Italian food means to me, making the best of what you have.
Wow. Fantastic little story there, Chiara. Thank you. Good luck 🙂
I am food lover.. Like to learn different cultures food.. Personally I really like Italy , delicious pasta..
Good luck!
Passion
Passion.
Italian cooking doesn’t have to be difficult but should be full of flavour. I would love to learn more about Italian cooking as at the moment I usually resort to opening a jar of Ragu!
Best of luck, Lucy!
Italian cooking, for me, brings up images of both family and romance! Cooking healthy, delicious and fresh dishes the family love,or trying new dishes for two! I only cook a few Italian dishes though and would love the chance to learn more!!
Romance? No spaghetti on the first date!
Italian food is made of great fresh ingredients and most important of all…passione! Cookery School rocks! Rx
It’s the most important ingredient! And yes I agree; Cookery School rocks!
health, fresh ingredients and a tasty result!
Si!
Italian Cooking, for me, is the greatest (and arguably the most popular) cuisine in the world. The staple of my diet – pastas, pizzas, risottos – are all Italian dishes. The average Brit’s food intake is indebted to the Italian cuisine. Why? Because for taste and purity of ingredients, it’s simply unmatched.
Hear! Hear!
First of all thank you for this amazing opportunity, I have always wanted to go to an Italian cooking class and this class sounds amazing.
To me, Italian Cooking is all about cooking with love, bringing simple herbs and fresh ingredients together to create classic dishes that brings you and the whole family together. From simple pasta to more complex risotto, Italian food has it all.
Good luck everyone and thank you tikichris, cause whoever wins will have a good time and hopefully learn something new.
