From the sunny shores of Portugal through to North Africa, India and Thailand to Indonesia, the chefs at Bart have been on a Journey of Discovery to source delicious regional ingredients for an exciting new series of spice blends, which quickly and easily add character to everyday dishes. Here’s a chance for one lucky reader to win a Journey of Discovery hamper worth £40 and have a taste of these blends without even having to leave the kitchen. Keep reading to find out how.

Bart’s Journey of Discovery range includes the following:

Pilau
A South Asian mix of herbs and spices to create an authentic pilau rice in a quick and simple way, combining the fragrance of cardamom and clove with the vivid colour of turmeric
Harissa
A dry mix inspired by a traditional Tunisian recipe with a fiery kick, softened by mint and caraway
Piri Piri
This Portuguese inspired chilli seasoning combines two types of chilli with paprika, lemon, peppers and other ingredients to add excitement to meat dishes
Aromatic Thai
Blended to create fresh and fragrant soups and curries, this seasoning blends purple basil with ginger, coriander leaf and chilli
Panch Phoran
A Bengali style blend of five whole spices, widely used in the North East of India and Bangladesh combining the seeds of cumin, nigella, black mustard, fenugreek and fennel
Indonesian Goreng
The Indonesian word for “fried,” Goreng can be added during any stage of cooking for a curry flavour with a spicy twist, blending 12 ingredients which includes paprika, coriander seed, ginger and galangal.

The range is available from Ocado, Waitrose, independent grocers and delicatessens, as well as from the Bart website, priced at £4 per tin and £2.99 for a BBQ seasoning jar. As with all Bart products, the blends use only the highest quality ingredients and each recipe is blended in a way that best preserves the flavour and appearance of each spice. There are no fillers, artificial colourings or flavour enhancers.
