Hakkasan Group expands its supremacy of upscale luxury East Asian dining with the opening of Yauatcha City at Broadgate Circle.
The new 7,220sqft semi-circle restaurant echoes the swankest of design elements of its flagship Michelin starred sister site in Soho – only in shinier new Broadgate Circle digs for easy access to Liverpool Street passers by and for City workers keen to flash cash in tasteful (and tasty) surroundings near their offices.
From what I gathered while vying for dim sum canapés at the launch party, there seems to be plenty of just such folks to keep the restaurant cranking out luscious menu items along the lines of scallop shui mai and (my favourite bite had during the launch) meaty and moreish venison puffs for a long time yet. Obs, an impeccably curated wine and Champagne list, easterly thinking cocktails, and close to 40 different types of tea should do deliciously well in keeping any thirsts at bay.
But that’s merely what’s going on upstairs. Downstairs is the standalone Yauatcha Patisserie, where Executive Pastry Chef Graham Hornigold has outdone himself with an indulgent selection of macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates. Crave worthy notables include pretty treats like Exotic Pandan (passion fruit, mango, coconut, pandan); Pomegranate Yoghurt (pomegranate compote, yoghurt, wild flower, honey, granola); and Jasmine Honey (milk chocolate, jasmine, caramelised honey) – all for around £5 per dessert.
Yautacha City is located at Broadgate Circle, EC2M 2QS. Find out more at yauatcha.com.
