New Chocolate Shop for Fitzrovia: Choconut, Great Portland Street

Are you nuts about chocolate? Then check out the new Choconut boutique chocolate shop in Fitzrovia.

Family owned and hardly more than a couple of months old, Choconut is London’s only shop to use 100% Valrhona chocolate for its handmade creations – and all Choconut chocolate products are handmand in-store, including a range of made-while-you-wait bespoke products (done by chocolatier Xavier Parcerisa, ex Head Pastry Chef at The Goring). The shop pulls a mean coffee as weel – relying on top quality roasters Nude and Square Mile for its beans – and bakes its own muffin from scratch.

(Just in time for Valentine’s) I paid a visit this week, found it hard to refuse any samples and walked away having tasted some new favourite nibbles. Best thing I’ve try (of the chocolaty variety) in quite some while was Choconut’s olive oil and saffron truffle. Blackberry and elderflower was a winning combo too. I loved my soothingly sip-able cinnamon hot chocolate.

Prices are nice. Bars from £3.50 for a small to £7.50 for 100g. The average price for a personalised chocolate is around £5.

Choconut is located at 161 Great Portland Street, W1W 5PB. Find out more at choconut.london.
