I’m a Mess. So is My House. Is There Any Help?

DSCF1953

I’m a mess: in and out of town more than ever, dashing between events and meetings, uncertain where I left my passport/keys/Oyster card/etc, wondering what day of the week it is. But you know what’s even bigger mess? My home.

The more I go! go! go! the more things pile up at home. I love what I do. I want to do more of it. All the travel, writing, and pursuing my business and pleasure in equal measure results in plenty of reward and gratification but also less time and inclination to clean and put order to my mess at home. Plus, my partner and I share our house with the furriest cat in the universe. We love the little critter a bunch. Still, if we miss a week of vacuuming and the fur situation gets intense.

Enter Hassle.com, the online and app-based cleaning service offering vetted cleaners, online payments, and 100% money-back guarantees … and the promise of being able to book “local, trusted cleaners” online and within 60 seconds. I hear they do ironing too. Hallelujah!

I’m looking to give Hassle a go over the next few months and see if how much it helps to bring order back to my life. I’ve relied on cleaners before, but it’s been awhile since the last time (and never in the place where I live now).

And while I let Hassle free up my time doing all those pesky but important chores that add a drag to my day, I’m going to try and focus on sorting out the rest of my mess: finally organising my office, getting a better grip of my schedule, and maybe even taking it easy a little more often than I’m accustomed to doing.

You know the old saying, “if you want something done, give it to someone who’s already busy.” I reckon the notion applies to a slew of situations – just not when it comes to cleaning house.

Anyway, stay tuned for more posts about my hopefully hassle-free experience trying out Hassle.
