Do you believe in magic? Whether you do or not I am certain you will be amazed and have a fantastic night out if you attend The Magic Hour and allow magician Tony Middleton (aka Sonic) to perplex and entertain you with his sleight of hand, illusions and Victorian spiritualist theatrics.
Set in the antiquated but impeccably restored splendor of the Grand Royale hotel’s Victorian lounge set just off Hyde Park, Tony Middleton’s show in the style of “the Golden Age of Magic” was a bewildering delight to attend. I’m still scratching my head after last Friday’s show wondering how he pulled off more than a few of his tricks. The event and its setting were intimate, offering a chance to scrutinize Tony’s every movie, participate if you’d like – and just feel like you’re part of something a little more personalized and special than so many other types of shows around town.
I especially loved the second half of The Hour, particularly the séance and how at its close, Tony was able to tie several loose ends together in the most magical of ways!
Tickets cost £25 each and include a cocktail or soft drink. That’s great value for a fun and not-so-typical night out on the town.
The Magic Hour is presented most Friday nights at Grand Royale London Hyde Park, 1-9 Inverness Terrace, W2 3JP. Find out more at magichourshow.com.
