Good stuff and lots of it! Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.
Rose liqueur, Lanique, made with steam-distilled rose oil, recreated from a 200-year-old secret recipe. It’s a smart quaff to keep in mind for Valentine’s. Rose is one of my favourite flavours. Sipping Lanique is like drinking liquid Turkish Delight. Yum! I like it best mixed with sparkling water and a wedge of lemon. But it would be great in all sorts of cocktails. Okay, so not everything in tikichris land comes out smelling like a rose. But I’ve been impressed with a sample bottle of Phew for Vectair Systems, the “natural toilet spray for those awkward moments” that I recently received for review. Phew is made with natural, non-hazardous ingredients, without propellants or solvents. I have the “Lemon Blessed” scented 30ml travel bottle. It works – and is quite handy for the office, visiting friends’ homes, and travel. Find it on Amazon for £4.99.
I’m pleased to report I am still super satisfied with my Pomora olive tree adoption/olive oil subscription. Pomora’s goal is to create a community of food lovers and food producers who share an ethical vision. Each quarter I receive a shipment of 3 x 250ml tins of some of the tastiest and most ethically produced olive oil I’ve ever tasted, sourced from independent farmers in Campania and Sicily.
Control GX Grey-Reducing Shampoo
GX grey-reducing shampoo is a shampoo that reduces the amount of visible grey hair with each wash. It doesn’t work by temporarily depositing colour, but instead uses a gradual and permanent grey-reducing technology, making it completely different from other shampoos in the market. Provided with a sample bottle, I’ve been washing with Control GX Grey Reducing 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner (RRP £8.69) instead of my usual shampoo for the past couple of weeks and can really see a difference. To be honest, I kinda like having grey hair. On the other hand, it’s been fascinating watching it go back the colour it was a few years ago. I’m not sure I’ll keep up with washing with Control GX once my sample runs out, but I can recommend it to anyone who’s interested in “getting the grey out.”
