Say hello to the newest member of the Daisy Green Collection of Aussie style restaurants, cafes and kiosks in London: Timmy Green at Nova Victoria.
One of the first eateries to open at the still under construction Nova Victoria development near Victoria Station, Timmy Green boasts a fun menu that’s big on a Down Under approach to eating out. You can go ultra healthy or ultra indulgent. But whichever way you lean, ingredients will be top quality and fresh with a slant toward seasonality and from-scratch cooking. Timmy claims the same casual charms of the other Green ventures I’ve visited, just offered in a spiffier and rather more expansive setting.
During my lunch I had (read: devoured with gluttonous greed) Timmy’s Burger: 8oz prime beef patty on a black brioche bun (cold fermented activated charcoal sourdough) with chilli pineapple salsa, back bacon and mature Cheddar and a side of hand-cut twice-cooked duck fat fries (£13.50 + £2.50 for the bacon and £1.50 for the Cheddar). And that’s all Timmy wrote as I was plenty full … well … except for a Green Detox Juice (freshly squeezed cucumber, spinach, celery, apple, £5) to accompany my burger and fries (it can’t be just about the gluttony) and a double espresso (£2.60) at the end. The coffee was as good as I’d come to expect from other Daisy Green outlets (the Green’s is a special blend roasted exclusively for the collection by The Roasting Party).
Service was friendly, speedy, and helpful. The multi-storey space with giant windows and quirky artwork was attractive – and packed with happy diners on the Friday afternoon when I dropped in. I’d make a rez if planning to go at peek times during the week or for weekend brunch.
Timmy Green is located at 29 Bressenden Place (at the corner of Buckingham Palace Road), SW1E 5DJ. Find out more about Timmy Green and the other locations in the Daisy Green Collection at daisygreenfood.com.
