Steps from Camden Town Station, Miusan restaurant takes diners across the Far East with a variety of pan Asian dishes in glitzy style.
I visited “opium den inspired” Miusan about a week back, invited for a media night menu graze. I like everything I tried but loved best two starters: the soft shell crab with chilli and curry leaves (£8.50), and the shredded duck and water chestnut spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce (£6.50). Beef Rendang (£8), Vegetarian clay pot (mangetout, baby corn, curly kale and tofu, £7.50) and Weeping Tiger (sirloin steak strips in red wine & black pepper sauce, £12.50) pleased my palate as well.
During my dine I enjoyed sipping a cheeky Beijing Iced Tea (vodka, white rum, gin, tequila, blue curacao and lemonade, £8.50) and did not mind nibbling from a range of desserts including tapioca pearl taro pudding with caramel palm sugar and coconut milk; steamed glutinous rice balls filled with red bean paste, citrus palm sugar and ginger; and sweet potato chocolate cake with warm chocolate sauce and lychee agar agar (£5 each).
To complement the cocktails and the sleek setting, there’s a dancefloor replete with disco ball for late night DJ-led action. Miusan is open until 2am on Friday and Saturdays and until 1am the rest of the week.
Miusan is located at 16 Inverness Street, NW1 7HJ. Find out more at miusan.co.uk.
