Okay London, are you ready for a HotTug chug down the Regent’s Canal? Alexandra Kalinowski investigates.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a HotTug comes to London. Yes, a floating hot tub. It’s basically bathception.
When we popped down for the launch, I was expecting a proper jacuzzi with bubbles and jets and all that pizzazz. But no, it’s just a warm tub powered by wood. That’s right, burning wood. Which means the guys manning it need to constantly add more to keep it hot. Quite frankly, it’s a bit of a faff. But actually people are 100% behind the idea, hence their mega success crowdfunding which has brought them to today. 22nd July when they launch on Regent’s Canal.
Rides are 90 minutes long and come to around £23 per person. But you better find 5 friends who are willing to get wet with you. The tub comes complete with a drinks case to fit your booze into (and you’ll want some to get over the awkwardness of floating along half naked while people ogle at you on the towpath). The views from the canal are always a stunner and turning into a prune certainly makes for a good laugh. So if you feel like doing something a bit different, why not give it a go? I mean boats are so 2016.
HotTug London opens 22nd July for booking. Find out more at hottuguk.com. You can find HotTug at 16-35 Graham Street, N1 8JX.
