Zay Ahmed unwinds in style at The Westbury Mayfair Hotel.
It’s not every day you walk into a hotel lobby to be greeted by a pair of models sashaying towards you in opulent evening wear. But when the hotel you’re visiting is The Westbury Mayfair, a luxury five star hotel near Bond Street, nothing less should be expected.
I was invited along to an exclusive fashion show and champagne reception to celebrate the hotel’s launch as a Luxury Collection Hotel. The catwalk, which showcased the essence of Mayfair, featured womenswear fashion designer Amanda Wakeley, international tailor Velsvoir and British accessories brand, Gladstone London.
The Westbury Mayfair has recently been renovated under the direction of the esteemed Alex Kravetz Designs. After the show, we hopped in the lift to check out the newly refurbished penthouse suit and I have to say, it’s impressive. Rooftop terrace? Tick. Butler service? Tick. Italian marbled bathroom? Tick.
The evening was topped off with Chef Alyn Williams’ Michelin-starred canapés from the hotel’s restaurant and cocktails from the award-winning hotel bar, Polo Bar.
