You know those awesome 1001 … Before You Die books (including the Restaurants edition I contributed to a few years back)? Well, I’ve teamed up with publisher of the 1001 books, Octopus Books, for a special giveaway of the latest title in the popular series: 1001 Photographs You Must See Before You Die.
Octopus has set aside two copies of 1001 Photographs to share with a couple of tikichris readers for free. It’s a brilliant book for the coffee table and (dare I say it) an excellent idea for a Christmas present.
From the world’s oldest known photograph (shot in 1826) to images as recent as 2016, the book is a fascinating compendium of the greatest photographs ever shot, with stunning reproductions of each image alongside illuminating explanations and historical detail. Edited by Paul Lowe with foreword by Fred Ritchin, 1001 Photographs features photos from around the world and by a range of photographers, including Henri Cartier-Bresson to Annie Leibovitz, Ansel Adams to Helmut Newton, and many more besides.
