Greek Street’s “little meatball restaurant” served a one night only “Ghouls and Company” feast last night for Halloween. Creepy? Yeah. And tasty too!
The dinner was my first time to try the restaurant. Kemey and I had a lot of fun and were amused by the ghastly put-ons for the occasion. Best bits were the gnarly lady’s finger biscuit in cocktail (presented by the Company Below cocktail bar downstairs), and the goofily gory twist on red velvet cake for the Frankenstein’s Bride dessert.
Halloween trappings aside, the dining experience in general was positive. I found the menu to be thoughtfully designed; I was especially impressed with my starter course of charred baby octopus with tarator and red pepper reduction. Polenta chips on the side were super crunchy on the outside and incredibly light and fluffy on the inside. A carafe of Cycles California Pinot Noir (£22) paired pretty well perfectly with everything Kemey and had, particularly my main course of barbecue pork ribs with boerewors in tomato sauce.
Service was swift and friendly … and not scary at all!
