Falling for Scotland is easy to do this time of year, especially when seeing the country by car.
Kemey and I hit the road a few weeks back for a mid October drive across Scotland. With stops along the way in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness, our trip was an autumnal mix of city break and rural retreat. Along the way we sought out the heights of urban culture and the wonders of Highland wilderness – encountering both in equal measure and at a splendidly relaxed pace.
Helping us access some of the best moments of our visit was the new Vauxhall Mokka X. On loan to us for our journey, the fairly compact 4X4 SUV proved a comfortable and capable companion. Agile and adaptive on city streets, country lanes and even a (very wee) bit of off-roading, the car handled Scotland’s famously temperamental climate with ease. Indeed, the favourite part of our jaunt up north was the chance to experience such a stunning and dramatic landscape by road.
I’ll share more in the days to come about the Mokka X, our amazingly scenic drive and the highlights of our stay in our three pit stop cities. So please keep an eye out for future Falling for Scotland posts to be published soon.
