In celebration of the festive season, sketch has partnered with artist Chris Levine to create Silent Light – a laser and sound installation in its gallery.
I paid a morning visit to sketch for the launch and was subdued, mesmerized and delighted by the work.
A low “ommmmm” emitted throughout the rather glamorous digs of sketch’s (David Shrigley art bedecked) gallery walls with laser beams (of mostly violet hue) dancing overhead with diffuse light throughout the room: it’s an unusually placid tone especially for a buzzy Mayfair haunt like sketch.
And it’s worth checking out. I was transfixed by the installation but also made to feel at ease while enjoying breakfast and taking in Levine’s masterfully ethereal display.
Silent Light runs until 6 January 2018 at sketch Gallery, 9 Conduit Street, W1S 2XG. Find out more at sketch.london.
