Good stuff and lots of it!
Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.
This new honey beer brewed with botanicals is a collaboration between Bang-On Brewery in Bridgend, Wales and the Cardiff School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences’ Pharmabees project is deeply flavoursome and moreish. Soon as I finished the one sample bottle I had I wished I could have another.
Cafédirect Roast & Ground Single Origin
Cafédirect’s Roast & Ground Single Origin range is a collection of coffees from around the world, with editions produced from single sources in Central and South America and Africa, delivering a variety of flavours. The range includes four varietals: Machu Picchu (Peruvian), Kilimanjaro (Tanzanian), Cauca Valley (Colombian) and Tarrazu Reserve (Costa Rican). Each is comprised of 100% Arabica beans. I enjoyed trying them all over the festive season, especially the medium-bodied and chocolaty Cauca Valley.
Look for the range at Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco at recommended retail prise of £3.75 per 227g.
Hand-harvested by twentysomething entrepreneur Jethro Tennant from Dorset’s mineral rich Jurassic coastline, this new-to-market premium sea salt packs a significantly more potent and savoury punch than typical table salt and other brands of English sea salt that might come to mind.
By it online (£4 for 100g) or at quality shops in Dorset.
Wow. This very downable ale from Brookfield Brewing Company relies on a 12th century style recipe featuring wild harvested sweet gale and the “open squares” system for some exceptionally flavoursome results. Toasty and balanced with a hint of nuts and mild spice, it’s one of the tastiest brews I’ve come across in quite some time.
Motorola Stream Bluetooth enabled earbuds offer a true wireless experience with rich HD sound with a long battery life and a sleek little carrier case/charger. Much less of a mess than the earbuds I was using and with way better sound quality, I’ve been enjoying listening to music and podcasts through my set of Motorola Stream while bopping around town.
Exclusive to Argos, Motorola Stream is priced at £79.99.
Proviz Sports Reflect360 Bike Helmet
While I was riding around town on my loaned Cityzen e-bike, I kept my head safe wearing the sturdy and reflective Reflect360 helmet. It was lightweight, comfortable and easy to adjust for a snug fit.
Rombouts One Cup Filter Coffee
Founded in 1896 in Belgium, Rombouts has been sourcing, roasting and supplying coffee to the UK for more than half a century. Back in 1958, the family owned and operated company created the world’s first one cup filter and today this is still Rombouts’ best selling products. I’ve been sampling an assortment of Rombouts coffees and have taken a liking to the one cup filters, especially the Original and Colombian coffee filters. They’re a quick and easy way to prepare a decent coffee in the morning.
Price is £2.99 for a pack of 10 filters online and at most supermarkets in the UK.
