Top country and Americana stars are lining up for the inaugural Long Road Country, Americana and Roots Festival. Old and New World traditions will unite in the grand surrounds of Stanford Hall in Leicestershire. The historic home has housed the Cave family since the 15th century but this weekend plays host to Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, Angaleena Presley, The Shires, Bob Harris and the BBC Introducing Stage and dozens more country, bluegrass and folk performers from the US and UK.
Long Road promises to be much more than just a music festival. In addition to five stages showcasing top talent from the vibrant country and Americana scene, you’ll find late night acoustic shows, authentic down home cookin’, bourbon tasting, hula hoop and square dance workshops and a Big Ol’ Country Quiz. Families should head straight for kid-friendly Lil’ Possum County, and everyone young at heart can enjoy campfire singalongs complete with fireside musicians and roast marshmallows.
The Long Road Festival runs from Friday 7th September 2018 to Sunday 9th September 2018 at Stanford Hall, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, LE17 6DH. Tickets from £47.50, (camping additional), discounts for under 16s. More at thelongroad.com.
