Rooftop Film Club is Back

Untitled

Rooftop Film Club is back and Demi Perera wants to scream about it from the erm … rooftops.

London is collectively cheering its return as it brings a whole lot of sunshine, classic movies and popcorn back to our lives. Think long evenings with panoramic views across London from Bussey Building and Roof East.

Remember Jumanji? How great would it be to watch it as a grown-up, under a blanket, outside, five storeys high as the sun goes down? If not, how about Back to the Future or Buffy? Mean Girls? The list goes on. With easily accessible locations, freshly popped corn, mini burgers and cold beers just how many movies would it be possible to fit in to a single summer? We’re certainly willing to find out.

Locations

Bussey Bulding sits opposite Peckham Rye station in the bustling, no frills heart of South East London. The iconic five storey space with panoramic views and a mean craft beer is the epitome of happy urban evenings. Bright pink walls against a crystal clear blue sky is now the only way to enjoy a movie. Call ahead and you can arrange wheelchair access for the evening.

Roof East in Stratford this year is running away with the circus. Mini golf, hip-hop bowl and barbecued burgers have been added for our pleasure. Sleepless in Seattle in Stratford? You heard it here first! Tiered seats, incredible sound and cosy blankets and it will feel more like your bedroom than you think. Do we really need anything else?

Whether it’s date night, girl’s night or mates’ night Rooftop Cinema Club is here until 30th September. Grab your friends, make a date and to take yourself back to a more innocent time. Immerse yourself in a classic movie or two under the stars as you leave the urban jungle behind.
