John Fowler Holiday Parks

With the “chaos” of a volcanic ash cloud drifting in from Iceland, one more reason to stay in the UK for your next holiday has been added to a seemingly ever increasing list of potential holiday hassles.

As much as I love jetting off to exotic destinations, I’ve come to dread queueing up at airports and sometimes come back from a trip more exhausted than I was before I left. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not retiring my flight jacket any time soon, but the prospect of getting out of town without having to deal with airports, currency exchanges and whatever else the travel gods can throw at me certainly has its appeal.

John Fowler Holiday Parks have been offering family-oriented holidays in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall for more than 50 years. There’s cabaret and live music at most John Fowler locations and all staff members are all fully qualified English Tourist Board Welcome Hosts. With a wide choice of comfortable accommodations (chalets, caravans, apartments, cottages, villas, lodges, larger houses, and space for tents and touring) for families from two to twelve in size, John Fowler Holiday Parks sound like just the right retreat for a family in need of a break. They’ve even got CRAZY GOLF!

I’ve never been to one Mr Fowler’s holiday parks, but I have been to the West Country and find it as bucolic a destination as any I’ve visited. And the Cornish coast features some of the most dramatic coast line I’ve ever experienced. I’d love to go back. Next time I get the chance, I’ll consider staying at one of Fowler’s parks.
