Chefspective: Cass Titcomb, Chef Patron of Canteen
Londonist, May 11, 2010 3:17 PM
With four locations in London, Canteen provides Londoners with “simple British food” in tastefully casual settings. Chef Patron Cass Titcomb has been with the small chain from its 2005 start. After a recently and terribly filling lunch (we loved the roast chicken) at Canteen’s comfortable and spacious Baker St restaurant, we decided to find out more from Cass about the guiding principles behind the restaurants’ success as well as a little about his life as a chef.

Nice article Chris! Had another encounter with the volcanic ash cloud at the weekend. I got stranded in Milan for an extra day. Can’t complain though, there are worse places to be stranded! Had however a bit of misfortune with my Milanese restaurant choices. Luckily, my hotel was opposite a branch of Laduree. The raspberry macarons were amazing! D.
Thanks Dainee! Sorry to hear you had bad meal in Milano (next time shoot me an email – I know a few nice places there). But I’m glad to hear you got yoru macaroon fix. Laduree is swell. I actually walked by the one on Piccadilly tonight. It took considerable restraint not to enter the shop!
Take care,
Chris
