More on Sofas

A couple of weeks back I was blogging about a rather epic struggle to get an old but otherwise perfectly fine sofa up some flights of stairs and through a few not so sofa-friendly doorways in my new flat. The struggle was ultimately successful but took a bit more strategic thinking and elbow grease than I had presumed it would. I was really worried the sofa wasn’t going to fit through the last door it was wedged so snuggly into it. Immediate concerns of how to get that two seater sucker back out to the street and then figuring out what to do with it once removed from the building flooded my mind, along with wondering what I was going to purchase to take its place.

Where would I go? What would be a good price to pay? Was I going to be able to find something that fit in my new space.

There’s a whole universe of sofa and furniture related knowledge to tap into out there on the internet including store sites such as CSL sofas. I reckon I’d have scoured the net before deciding on a purchase or to visit a showroom. I know for sure I would have measured the spaces in my flat and the height and width of its doors before even considering any new furniture.

Luckily, I didn’t have to resort to buying something new and I’m now laid back with feet propped up in my good old slightly-too-big-for-my-new-flat couch. It’s comfy too – and goes nicely with the rest of the flat’s décor. Still, I suppose it’s good to know shopping for a new sofa would have been easy enough even if I’d have had to do it sitting on the floor.

Oh yeah, and here’s a link to that original Sofa Bed Blues post.
