Ever wish you were a little more Scandi? All things Scandinavian – and especially Swedish – seem to be as hip as ever in the UK these days.

Indeed, there’s a fantastic little Swedish cafe – Cooper & Wolf – that opened up about ajust down the street from my flat in Hackney. I don’t know the whole story behind this new and already very popular eatery, but from my perspective it seemed to have just appeared overnight. Whatever the case, their pickled herring is delish and was undoubtedly made by experienced hands. And then there’s the new Icelandic owned Tommi’s Burger Joint that’s recently started trading in Marylebone. Maybe the best burgers I’ve had in London (that weren’t made by myself that is).

Those are but two of the many fresh and tasty examples of Anglo-Nordic love filling the London air at the moment. And as much as we here seem to want access to Scandi stuff, enterprising and proud Scandinavians appear ready and willing to grant us access to their culture and traditions. Enter: Olof Håkansson.

Rekorderlig Swedish School (Svenska Skolan) is the ultimate manifestation of one man’s “Beautifully Swedish” vision. Together with his team of teachers, Olof Håkansson – founder of the Svenska Skolan – has created a place which recognises that everyone could be beautifully Swedish if given the essential techniques inherent in every Swede.

Olof believes everyone has a beautifully Swedish side, and he wants to help you find yours at his Swedish School.
