Co Yo: Yoghurt Made from Coconut Milk

DSC03120 - Co Yo

Have you tried this stuff yet? It’s pretty awesome. And no, it’s not yoghurt with coconut flavouring added to it. It’s dairy-free, soya-free, sugar free (contains silver birch xylitol) vegan “yoghurt” made out of freshly squeezed cream from the white flesh of coconuts. Co Yo is the UK’s first and only coconut milk yoghurt and first hit British shelves earlier this year. The texture is super creamy, and the health benefits are purportedly many. It’s certainly a tasty and healthier alternative to a lot of other treats.

Co Yo’s core range is available in 400g, 250g and 125g sizes nationwide via Ocado (fr) and at Selfridges, Whole Foods Market and Planet Organic stores as well as a bunch of indie health stores and delis throughout the UK.

I sampled a few Co Yo flavours recently and liked them all. They went over a hit with Kemey too. And after a few bites we were brainstorming about how to use the product as an ingredient to different recipes.

I’m hoping to get my hands one a few more tubs of yummy Co Yo soon for experimenting and sneaking cheeky spoonfuls too 😉

Latest news:

For a limited time only Co Yo’s has a chocolate and orange flavour out on the market. It’s yummy and the “creamsicle” taste works well with Co Yo’s smooth texture. You can find it at London Selfridges, all Planet Organic stores and Whole Foods Markets in single-serving 125g pots only and priced at £1.99. Flavours in the Co Yo core range include natural, raw chocolate, mixed berry, mango and pineapple. I’ve tried natural (my fave), raw chocolate and mango. All good stuff!
