Courtesy of Bart Ingredients, I have a yummy package of the new Smokehouse Barbecue range of rubs, mills and sauces to share with one lucky reader.
This new barbecue range hasn’t quite made it to your supermarket shelves yet, but I’ve had a chance to sample some of products. I really enjoyed what I’ve tasted too! I was especially impressed with the Smokey Chipotle Marinade Rub and the Smokey Barbecue Mill (blend of pepper, smoked paprika and coriander).
The rubs come with in-pack marinade bags to help make cooking much less messy and cleaning a whole lot easier. All you have to do is place the meat or fish in the bag with the marinade, hold the bag closed and shake gently to spread the ingredients around. For depth of flavour, leave in the fridge for an hour or more before grilling. And, just in case it’s raining, the bag can also be used in the oven for slow cooking, retaining the moisture.
Planning to host a BBQ this summer? These new smoky flavoured treats from Bart are sure to wow you and your guests and lighten your after party workload too!

About Bart’s Smokehouse range of authentic rubs, mills and sauces
The recipes in the Smokehouse Range have been chosen from around the world to bring exciting flavours to everyday cooking. The rubs come in five great flavours:
- Spicy Smokey Chipotle rub from Texas;
- Herby Mediterannean combining basil, oregano, parsley and rosemary with tomato and lemon;
- Lemon & Sweet Pepper rub inspired by the Australian sunshine;
- A classic New York Steak rub to create the ultimate deli experience in your own back garden; and
- A Tandoori rub featuring tamarind as a core ingredient for depth and colour.
In addition to the rubs, the Smokehouse range features seasoning mills and sauces, all of which complement each other and can be used before cooking as a marinade, at the grill or as a dipping sauce at the table.
Whole spices and seeds in the new mills give a fresh, aromatic seasoning, heat, flavour and colour to meat, vegetables and salads:
- Garlic Salt Mill: blend of roasted garlic and wild garlic leaf;
- Mexican Style Chilli Mill: blend of chilli and hot spices;
- Moroccan Style Salt Mill: blend of sea salt, spices and rose petals; and
- Smokey Barbecue Mill: blend of pepper, smoked paprika and coriander.
The three Smokehouse sauces are inspired by regional US recipes:
- Kansas City Barbecue Sauce: a sweet, tangy tomato based sauce with gentle spice;
- South Carolina Mustard Sauce: researched amongst home recipes, this is an unusual alternative to tomato based sauces and is perfect for pulled pork or ribs; and
- Texas Barbecue Sauce: habanero chillies combine with dates for a classic barbecue flavour.
Like all Bart products, the Smokehouse Barbecue range features ingredients of the highest quality blended in the way that most suits the herbs and spices selected, preserving flavour and appearance. And the guarantee that there are never any fillers, artificial colourings, flavour enhancers or other nasties.
The full range is available at Ocado from the end of June and a selection of the rubs and mills will be instore at all Waitrose branches from 2nd June. They will also be available through independents, and delicatessens around the country. Or buy online at bart-ingredients.co.uk from July. The rubs are priced at £1.49, the sauces at £2.99 and the mills at £3.99.
