So I was running around all over town yesterday without a chance to stop for a meal. At one point, I found myself at Waterloo Station (en route from Mayfair to South Bank with The Mall, Soho, Camden and back home to Hackney lined up after that) and went with an old reliable for my din-din on the go: a pasty from West Cornwall Pasty Co.
The recently released and limited edition Sunday Lunch Pasty (£4.15 for a medium sized order) did me right and kept my appetite at bay for the rest of the evening. Stuffed with prime beef skirt from Britain and Ireland along with fresh carrots and peas, potatoes and parsnips and even Yorkshire pudding with gravy and horseradish it was the best of a traditional roast baked into a handy parcel of comfort food satisfaction. I’d have it again and would recommend it next time you’re on the hoof and looking for something to tide you over that isn’t complete junk food or bland.
The Sunday Lunch Pasty is available now until 9 November at all West Cornwall Pasty Co shops. There are more than 70 West Cornwall Pasty Co outlets in England (plus one in Glasgow) with over a dozen shops in Greater London.
