Happy Norway Day? Ja! Here’s the scoop on a tasty and affordable way to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Norwegian constitution. The Norwegian Seafood Council is partnering with 99 fish and chip shops across Britain to offer folks a chance to purchase a portion of the UK’s preferred takeaway for only 99p.
16 tonnes of fine and flaky Norwegian cod caught in icy and clear Arctic waters of the Barents Sea is to be gifted to the 99 shops as part of the initiative, allowing nearly 40,000 Brits to join in the Norway Day celebrations by ordering ye olde British standard of hearty cod and chips.
In London, six chippies are participating:
- The Catch, 293 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, W4 4HH;
- Longlane, 154 Long Lane, Bermondsey, SE1 4BS;
- Mitchams Placie, 266 Mitcham Lane, Streatham, SW16 6NU;
- Olympic Fish Bar, 23 Church Street, Leytonstone, E11 1HG;
