Today is Canary Islands Day, an opportunity to celebrate Spain’s archipelago of fun-in-the-sun island destinations just off the coast of southern Morocco. There are seven main islands in the Canaries – Fuerteventura, Gomera, Gran Canaria, El Hierro, Lanzarote, La Palma, and Tenerife – along with a number of islets as well. Each of the islands is distinctively different to the others – and all have their merits beckoning travelers of just about every persuasion.
Shall we have a look at each island and what makes it unique?
