Cocktails and Pizza at Clerkenwell & Social

The food just seemed to be a sidekick for the far more inspired (and inspiring) drinks. Cocktails like the Breaking Good (Pisco infused with chilli, lime juice, tarragon syrup, homemade bitters and egg white) and Beer New World (pale ale with amaretto and Bourbon shaken with honey, lemon juice and orange bitters) took me off guard with their presentation and intriguing flavour. Ask for Janice

This casual bar and restaurant is a welcome addition to the cluster of food and drink options around Smithfield Market. I loved sipping my Beast of Bourbon cocktail (Woodford Reserve, sweet vermouth, crème de mure, £9). The stout salt squid (£8) was pretty yummy too as was most everything else I nibbled.
